Procurement Program

The Northwest Economic Council has teamed up with EDASC's Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) Program to provide assistance to Whatcom County businesses. NWEC provides counseling space and assistance to Diane McLeod, the PTAC program director for Skagit, Island, San Juan and Whatcom counties. Diane will be available on the first Tuesday of every month from 12:30 - 4:30 at the Northwest Economic Council offices.

The PTAC Program is an information resource for companies interested in doing business with Government agencies.  The PTAC can assist companies in finding opportunities to do business with Federal, State, and Local Government.

The PTAC program is designed to assist companies with necessary government registrations, such as the Central Contractors registration (CCR). The program also hosts seminars and workshops on various subjects. The PTAC can answer specific questions throughout the bid process.  The Center can also assist clients in obtaining Government designations such as Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone Business, Women or Minority Owned Business, or Small Disadvantaged Business. These designations can increase a business' chance of winning certain Government bids.

Washington State PTAC program is a statewide program partially funded by the Department of Defense and partially funded by the Economic Development Association of Skagit County. The EDC of Snohomish County oversees all the PTACs in Washington State, and their website is provided below.
